The last hot weekend..

Last weekend was quite possibly the last weekend of hot weather we'll be having this year here in England. Mark and I decided to make the most of it.

We were due back East to celebrate my sister turning 26, staying at my Dad's house as soon as we arrived we got into our bathing suites and played around in the pool for ages being like kids again before a quick sunbathe and snooze.

My sister's party was at  her house down the road so we didn't have to travel far. Before we left, we had a few glasses of prosecco on the balcony with my Dad, Step-mum and cousins watching the sun go down on the estuary which was just beautiful and perfect.

The next morning we spent trying to find a rounders bat after arranging a game with a few people at the pub on Friday night. We eventually found one on the way back to Surrey, but it came at a price - we got caught in whole load of traffic crawling at a snail's pace for 45 minutes with the sun streaming in and no air-con was not ideal and we thought we were going to be there forever. Alas, we weren't thank goodness and so met everyone in the park for some play time! 14 of us altogether, 7 aside which was awesome.

Another perfect weekend! <3

A mini trip to Bristol..

A few weeks ago me and the boy took a little trip to Bristol. 3 hours drive away, we had a fun road trip, laughing and singing our hearts out. I'd never been to Bristol before and fell in love with how arty everything was. I'd treated for Mark's birthday and the hotel we were staying in was perfect.

Falafels for lunch followed by a long walk along the river in the sunshine, stopping for a few ciders at Mud Dock before heading out to dinner at a cute little place called The Olive Shed where we shared tapas of lovely cheese, breads, olives, aubergines and calamarie. Situated on the river bank, set behind an unused railway line, I DEFINITELY recommend it for some quaint, intimate and romantic dining.

A little bit of Borough...

Today, the sun was shining and so I found myself at Borough Market at lunch time again.

I think it's my favourite food market in London and I could spend hours there just walking around the different stalls sampling whatever the traders have to offer, from breads with 10 year matured balsamic vinegars and oils to homemade chocolate brownies. Falafel wraps, salads with organic cheeses, rustic pork sandwiches and a HUGE paella as lunch choices with proseccos, wines and local ciders to wash it all down with.

Cobbled streets, ancient artifacts, a cathedral and a pub made famous by Britain's best loved single 20-something Bridget Jones all surround the market making it one of the best places of London to be.
